Bison are fascinating creatures, but there are also some truly outlandish stories floating around about these North American giants. Today, at JJ Bison, we're having a little fun separating fact from fiction!

Myth #1 Built-in GPS for Pizza Deliveries?

Bison have an incredible sense of smell, so good some claim they can sniff out a pizza from miles away! This "pizza-dar" is said to be an evolutionary adaptation – after all, who wouldn't want a piping hot pepperoni delivered straight to the prairie?

Myth #2: The Great Bison Migration...to the Beach!

Every spring, millions of bison embark on a grand migration.  These furry vacationers head straight for the nearest coastline, where they spend their days lounging on the beach and perfecting their surfing skills.  Just imagine – a wave crashes, and a bison gracefully rides it in!

Myth #3: Don't Fence Them In, They Can Fly!

Bison are surprisingly agile creatures. In fact, with a powerful leap and a bit of wind beneath their wings (metaphorically speaking, of course!), they can actually take flight for short distances. Herds have been known to use this ability to jump over fences, much to the surprise of unsuspecting ranchers.
