As you may know, Bison is the national mammal of the United States, next to the Eagle! Bison appear all over the United States as symbols or objects in so many different ways.
Sacred animals - Amongst Native American tribes, the bison embodies a sign of abundance and prosperity. This is especially shown in the white buffalo story.
Spirit Animals - The bison’s ability to survive winters and droughts make it a strong symbol of survival to many people.
Celtic Symbolism - In Celtic, the bison, or bill, is a common figure to represent strength and potential.
USS Buffalo Submarine - The United States Navy created the USS Buffalo (SSN-715) and was the second ship to be named for Buffalo. She launched on May 8, 1982, and was known as the first ship to undergo nuclear refueling in Hawaii.

Kansas State - Not only is the bison on their flag, but it’s their state animal, on their state seal, and on their quarter!
Montana - Montana has a bison skull on their quarter.
North Dakota - You guessed it, they have a quarter with bison as well!
Oklahoma - The state mammal is the bison here!
Wyoming - The state mammal and on the flag!
Sports - Of course, you know of the New York Buffalo, New York NFL Buffalo Bills, The Buffalo Bisons, the NBA Mascot the Bison for Oklahoma City Thunders, Colorado Buffalos, and many more!
