Cranberry Roast Bison

We wanted to try a new recipe today! Typically, you don't see cranberry flavor on red meat, but we wanted to pair it with a nice Sangiovese. This was surprisingly amazing and we loved the sweet meat flavoring!

Ingredients:

  • 4 tablespoons Onion powder

  • 3 tablespoons garlic powder

  • JJ Bison Chuck Roast

  • Canned jellied cranberry sauce (14oz)

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Mix the salt, pepper, and flour together in a small bowl.

  2. Pat the roast dry and then pat the flour mixture onto the roast.

  3. In a pan, set the pan on high heat and drip the 2 tablespoons olive oil, and sear the meat on all sides.

  4. Add the cranberry sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder to the slow cooker and mix them together.

  5. Put the roast in the slow cooker and put some of the cranberry sauce on top so it's covered, then set to low.

  6. After 3 hours, flip the roast over and make sure the cranberry sauce is over the roast again.

  7. Cook until the roast falls apart and serve!

    1. You can make gravy with the leftover sauce using some flour and whisk it in a sauce pan!
