Our story begins right here on our farm, where our bison herd thrives. We believe that happy bison are healthy bison, which is why we raise our animals in a stress-free environment. Our bison are born and raised on our ranch, with some bulls occasionally brought in for breeding purposes to ensure genetic diversity within the herd.


Nurtured by Nature

Imagine vast fields of green grass swaying gently in the breeze – that's where our bison spend most of their days. They graze on a wholesome diet of grasses, supplemented with hay and soy to ensure they receive all the nutrients they need to flourish.  We also have a reliable water source pumped in for the herd, ensuring they stay hydrated year-round, no matter the season.


Meticulous Care, Every Step of the Way

At JJ Bison, the well-being of our animals is our top priority. That's why we closely monitor our bison's health on a monthly basis. We weigh them and perform thorough checkups to ensure they're growing at a healthy pace and free from any health concerns.  Thankfully, due to the care we provide and the quality of their environment, we've never encountered any health issues within our herd.


From Pasture to Plate

Once our bison reach their mature weight, they are transported to a USDA-certified butchering facility. The butchering process is carried out humanely, ensuring the utmost respect for the animal.  The meat is then meticulously processed and flash-frozen to lock in all the flavor and freshness. Finally, it's vacuum-sealed on-site to preserve its quality until it reaches your table.


The Final Touch: USDA Approval


The health and safety of our customers is paramount. That's why all our bison organs are meticulously examined and approved by the USDA before they are made available for purchase.  This ensures that you receive not only delicious but also completely safe bison meat.
